beesocks: a darling floof, a precious kitty. what a flat face. blue eyes. a pure perfection. (Default)
The volleyball season is well underway now, and all teams in my area have been cancelled or require tryouts which I have failed. Out of all the sports I had queued up, volleyball was my favourite, and now, I cannot participate in it due to low interest! A true tragedy this is!

On another note, I recently started soccer lessons with toddlers (note that I am well past my toddler stage) and they were actually very fun. I have to be careful not to trip over all the little kids, but other than that, they are my exact equals in soccer level. Is that sad? Not in the slightest. We've both had the same amount of soccer training at this point, and anyone who laughs at me for playing on a baby team is going to get kicked with cleats. (not really lmao, but just leave me alone!!)

Some people, I don't know how many, it's not like it's popular or anything, but some people might know about a particular anime called Yuri!!! On Ice! which I recently started watching. I don't watch many anime and I haven't even finished the short first season of this one, but Yuri!!! On Ice! is an ice skating anime. Do note, though, that I started watching it because was interested in ice skating, and that my interest in the cold sport did not flourish from watching said anime. If you really want to know why I've taken a sudden interest in figure skating, it's because I recently sat down to watch the China and France Cups and was dazzled by the jumps. The little kicky thingy figure skaters do before a jump to launch themselves into the air looks so cool and I want to do it too! I have a couple friends who can ice skate and one or two that take actual figure skating lessons, and every weekend they patiently accompany me to the local ice rink to teach me. (THOUGH THEY  HAVEN'T TAUGHT ME HOW TO STOP ON THE ICE YET AND I HAVE QUITE A LOT OF BRUISES ON MY KNEES TO SHOW FOR THAT)

I know I'm barely capable of gliding on the ice confidently, but I've already started to daydream about my first routine, and I'd like to imagine it to the tune of Light Pollution from Lifeformed. It's so upbeat and happy and I love it very much! It would mean a lot to me if I could one day perform to this song, even if not for any judges. Some time in January the local ice rink is apparently having auditions for an ice show. My friends tell me they're putting on Naruto on Ice, and as much as I'd like to nart-run across the ice, I actually saw a flyer saying it's a bunch of snippets from Broadway shows. But, obviously, Naruto is a Broadway production, so there should be some of that too lmao.

In other news, the lacrosse season has ended. We had a total of 6 games, though I could only attend 5 and only played in 4. I mostly stayed as a defensive player, though during a scrimmage with a team from D.C I played midi and was thoroughly chewed out by my coaches for not knowing how to do the draw, which therefore squeezed all the excitement out of midfielder for me. Oh well, I actually like playing defense, and not just because I'm not the best at attack or doing the draw yet. I always feel guilty for wanting to play defense because it makes me feel "basic" and "lazy" EVEN THOUGH defense is a perfectly respectable position!

Either way, I currently only have soccer going on for me. I do miss volleyball terribly so and I wish I could still play it, but alas, I cannot. Most sports don't start until the spring. This summer I hope to get into a sport camp, really, of any sort. Sports camps sound fun, don't they? Until then, I guess I'm "lying in wait" as they say, but really, it's just hibernation.
